Jakarta – Prabowo Subianto, the Minister of Defense and potential presidential candidate of the Indonesian Democratic Coalition, has donated Rp 5 billion to the Palestinian people as a concrete show of support for their independence.
The head of the National Campaign Team Prabowo-Gibran, Rosan Roeslani, announced this during the “We Love Palestine” dialogue event held at the Djakarta Theater. He revealed that the donation, stated as Prabowo’s personal funds, is a concrete form of support for the struggle and welfare of the Palestinian people.
“He wants to donate directly, personally for the struggle and the people of Palestine,” said Rosan.
Prabowo, known as a strong supporter of Palestinian independence, emphasized that this support is in line with Indonesia’s stance of always siding with the Palestinian people’s struggle.
“We always support the struggle of the Palestinian people until they achieve independence,” said Prabowo in a statement.
The Chairperson of the Gelora Party, Anis Matta, who also attended the dialogue, highlighted the future of Palestinian independence. According to him, the prediction of Palestinian independence in 2027, as forecasted by Hamas Leader Sheikh Ahmad Yasin, is becoming more realistic with global public support, including from countries that sponsor Israel.
Prabowo’s support and Anis Matta’s statement are part of Indonesia’s strong voice in supporting Palestine. With the current global geopolitical conditions and the brutality faced by Palestine, this support is expected to be a crucial step in their struggle.
This donation is not only a symbol of solidarity but also a part of Indonesia’s commitment to continue supporting the humanitarian and justice struggle for Palestine. (SENOPATI)
