Pancasila Day, observed on June 1st every year, is a significant moment to commemorate the historical speech by President Soekarno during the first session of the Investigating Committee for Preparatory Work for Independence (BPUPKI) in 1945, where he introduced the foundation of the Indonesian state, later known as Pancasila. In honor of this event, President Joko Widodo declared June 1st as Pancasila Day and a national holiday through Presidential Decree No. 24/2016 and Joint Decree No. 1017, 2, 2/2024.
