National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is actively promoting local employment by recruiting workers for the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) from individuals living in extreme and general poverty. Redy Hendra Gunawan, Special Staff to BGN, shared that a minimum of 30% of the staff in each SPPG will be chosen from underprivileged households, aligning with the President’s directive to ensure the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program fosters job creation. Currently, there are 2,378 SPPG units operating in collaboration with 6,076 local economic institutions, with 93,572 community members volunteering in the program. The MBG Program has positively impacted over 7.4 million individuals nationwide, including students from various educational levels, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, toddlers, and more. In an effort to extend the program’s reach, BGN is set to establish an additional 2,401 SPPG units in the coming 10 days, with the goal of serving around 15 million beneficiaries. This initiative underscores a substantial push to support job opportunities and tackle nutritional requirements in marginalized communities.
