Jakarta – Plaza Senayan Jakarta witnessed the moment when the presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto, attended a meeting of the Erick Thohir Alumni of the United States (ETAS) volunteers on Monday (22/1). In that moment, Prabowo expressed his honor for being invited by Garibaldi Thohir, or better known as Boy Thohir, amidst the alumni entrepreneurs from the 80s and 90s.
Prabowo, who was accompanied by several figures such as Maruarar Sirait, Garibaldi Thohir, and Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, conveyed his happiness and gratitude to see strong support from the ETAS volunteers. Around 120 volunteers who attended the event had been fighting alongside Erick Thohir since the National Campaign Team (TKN) in 2019 and declared their full support for the 02 Presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the 2024 election.
“This is a great honor. I understand now why I lost twice (in the presidential elections in 2014 and 2019) because back then I wasn’t invited here (with the alumni from the US),” said Prabowo with a smile, referring to the warm welcome from the ETAS volunteers.
The majority of the ETAS volunteers, who wore light blue shirts as a sign of support, were declared to have been fighting alongside Erick Thohir since the TKN 2019. In their statement of support, they stated that Prabowo-Gibran is the best choice to lead Indonesia for the next five years.
“Not only from Indonesia, the ETAS volunteers also come from various cities in the United States, from Boston to Los Angeles, from Washington to California, from Indiana to Florida. We are here to support you,” said Bernandino Moningka Vega, one of the alumni present.
During the event, Prabowo expressed his appreciation for the great trust and support from the ETAS volunteers.
“I am very grateful for the immense trust placed on my shoulders,” he said sincerely.
The full support from the US alumni adds extra strength to Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election competition. Prabowo reiterated his commitment to build a better Indonesia, and invited all parties to unite for a common goal. (SENOPATI)
